About BBTS

The Broken Bow Theatrical Society was founded in March 2005. It was the idea of Tawsha Davenport who wanted to bring the arts to McCurtain County. She had recently moved back to her hometown of Broken Bow and missed being a part of live theater after five years at the University of Oklahoma Theater program and then living in Arlington, Texas for 12 years. She felt there was something missing in her new community, a theater program.

After a board of directors were formed, the newly formed theater group produced its first play, A Man of Destiny in May of 2005. Since that time the theater group has produced one successful play after another. They have currently moved into the murder mystery dinner productions and have sold out at each performance. Now the group looks forward to their production of their first festival Music MAYnia and More.

The mission statement of the Broken Bow Theatrical Society is simple. Our main goals as The Broken Bow Theatrical Society is to bring quality entertainment to the community of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, by showcasing the many talented performers within the community, children, teens, and adults in a theatrical venue.

To provide an increased awareness and appreciation of the theatrical arts for both our audience and for those who volunteer to make it happen.

To provide citizens of all ages and backgrounds with an opportunity to develop theatrical talents by participation in acting and other technical aspects of theater and presenting theatre productions in a broad range of styles.

We welcome theater lovers in the community who are interested in helping to develop our productions.
